About Ecuador
Ecuador is the smallest country in the Andes Mountains. Nevertheless, it has much to offer. Travelling Ecuador one finds a diverse range of landscapes from the evergreen Amazonian rainforest in the east, to the up to 6300 metre high Sierra with ice covered volcanoes and snowy mountains in the centre, and the coast with mangroves and lonely beaches in the west. Not to forget the marvellous Galapagos Archipelago located 1000 km from the mainland. The first destination for most travellers is Quito, the capitol of Ecuador and the former capitol of the northern Inca Empire. The official language is Spanish and the friendliness and openness of the Ecuadorian people makes it easy to get in touch and practice ones Spanish skills. Whether seeking unblemished natural wonders or an exotic, unhurried beach getaway, it can all be found in Ecuador.
