Hospitality Work Experience Program

This program gives candidates the opportunity of working in London, its suburbs or other large cities in the hotel/hospitality industries. Work experience positions in leading hotels are on offer such as waiters, chambermaids, bar-staff, conference stewards, receptionists etc. In addition there are jobs available for bar staff and waiters in many of the large cities’ young trendy restaurants, pubs and coffee houses. These workplaces provide a great environment for making friends and living amongst a community. Candidates will have plenty of opportunity to progress and learn new skills throughout the training period. All places of employment have been visited and checked for suitability. All placements are paid and accommodation can be arranged at a youth hostel.

  • Candidates work on average 39-48 hours per week
  • All interns are paid the National Minimum Wage, (GBP 4.60 per hour for participants of 18-21 years inclusive and GBP 5.52 per hour for worker of 22 years and over) often higher (approximately GBP 165 + per week salary for 39 hours work)

Application Requirements

  • 18 years old and over
  • Signed and completed application form
  • Minimum of 2 character references (preferably in the hospitality industry)
  • Medical Report
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • 4 passport photos
  • Letter of Objectives

Program Fee includes:*

  • Assessing skill levels
  • CV approval
  • English language evaluation
  • Advice on residency and immigration matters
  • Liaison with home office regarding permit applications, transfers and extensions
  • Work permit applications
  • Arranging temporary accommodation in the UK
  • Arranging host families accommodation in the UK
  • Advice on salaries and related issues
  • Arbitration service to negotiate problem-solving with employers
  • University of Cambridge International Examinations certificates for qualifying candidates
  • Assessment quotation of tax refund levels at the end of employment
  • Assisting with bank account opening

Accommodation

Accommodation is payable by the candidate. A budget of approx. £550 should cover the 1st month’s accommodation needs.
