Philippines

The Philippines are a small country in South-East Asia consisting of more than 7000 beautiful islands. Travellers to the Philippines will discover charming sandy beaches, idyllic bays and tropical forests. The capital is Manila and located on the main island of Luzon. Though the cities are bustling and modern you can go for a drive and within minutes be surrounded by lush green rice fields. Life in the Philippines is in many places still very simple, however the people are friendly and welcoming. Though Filipino is the main language most people also speak English which makes communication easy. One of the major attractions are the magnificent rice terraces of Banaue, claimed to be the 8th Wonder of the World. They can be found on the main island just like our partner the Southville Foreign University.
