Unpaid Internship

 

The Internship program in Ghana allows participants to share their experiences and enrich their skills while working in a different cultural environment. Candidates qualifications and skills are assessed, whether related to economics, socio-cultural, educational, scientific and administrative skills, and liaise with the Ghanaian organisations for placement. Some of the main fields available are as follows: Education Health Finance Banking Media and Journalism Computing Wildlife and Environment

Academic Credit for those candidates enrolled at Australian Universities can be provided upon request.

From 6 to 52 weeks

Application Requirements

• 18 to 60 years old

• More than 1 year of academic studies in the chosen field

• Completed and signed application form

• Current CV and cover letter in English

• 2 passport photos

• Evidence of academic studies

• Medical insurance

Homestay*

• Host family fee for one month (half board) = US$200

• Host family fee for one month (full board) = US$250

Please note that homestay fees do not include bottled mineral water. Participants must supply their own drinking water.

• Placement for the first three months: US$650

• Placement fee above three months: US$750

Volunteer Work

The Volunteer Work program gives candidates the opportunity to have a rewarding and life changing experience. Volunteers will work with local people integrating themselves within the culture. Some of the areas candidates will be placed in include community development projects, health and educational programs, HIV/VIH prevention campaigns, disabled people projects and eco- tourism activities. Placements are carefully selected, based on candidates experience, qualifications and areas of interest. Opportunities are available in both, urban and rural areas.

• Advanced level of English
• More than 1 year of academic studies in the chosen field

• Placement arrangement
• Accommodation arrangement
• Airport pick up
• Six days orientation
• Five nights accommodation in Accra with breakfast only and dinner upon arrival
• Transfer to host institution & accommodation
• Support services (including visits and solving problems that might arise at the volunteer’s workplace and homestay)
• 24 hour emergency assistance service
